Frosty finishes 3rd

Ford Pepsi Max Crew's Chaz Mostert has claimed his maiden victory for the factory Ford team after a mature and decisive drive in Perth.

Chaz qualified fourth and was third by turn one before claiming the race lead just before the second round of pit stops.

He then built a gap which he maintained to the end to beat championship protagonists Craig Lowndes and Frosty.

Mark retains his overall lead with third and despite his strategy not panning out as planned; he was pleased with his weekend and the overall performance of the team.

Mark Winterbottom - #5 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
Qualifying: 2nd
Race: 3rd
The team has had a great day and it is nice to see Chaz get his first win in one of our cars. We came here with the lead and really needed to back up our performance which I feel we did pretty well as our points lead is similar to what we had after New Zealand. There is no doubt we didnt get the strategy right today. We thought we would come home strong but we missed the window only slightly. To finish third is still not a bad day and to get a 1-3 result is great for the team.

Chaz Mostert - #6 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
Qualifying: 4th
Race: 1st
I had Craig down my neck all race and to race with him and trade lap times with him was cool. The team has been awesome all weekend and we were quick from Friday and that set us up for the weekend. This event is my one-year anniversary in the sport so it was great to cap the event with a win. It was a tough start to the year but the last couple of rounds have been awesome and to come away eighth in the points and with my first win for the team is really cool.

Tim Edwards Team Principal:
A great day for the team today. Chaz fully deserved his first win for the year and his recent form has shown that he is fast becoming the regular contender we knew he would be. His drive today was what youd expect of some of the veterans and to see him on the podium with Frosty and Craig (Lowndes) highlights the calibre of his performance. Marks strategy didnt play out as wed like but his lead is still more than 100 points and third place is a good result. Weve still got work to do but were happy with how things are going in general.
