Frosty 6th in practice

Ford Pepsi Max Crew has enjoyed a trouble-free start to proceedings in Perth with Chaz continuing his rise by finishing second in a closely-contested final practice.

Team-mate Frosty was in the top 10 throughout the day and had a similarly strong start.

The championship leader fared nearly as well and despite his lowest position of sixth coming in final practice, he was only 0.16s off the days best.

Mark Winterbottom - #5 Pepsi Max FPR Ford: 6th
In race trim we are strong and it all feels good, but we are still struggling a little when we put new tyres on. The good thing is Chazs car is doing what I want mine to do so between the two of us, we have two good directions. If we can sort our qualifying set-up we will be fine. It has been an encouraging day all round, were all quick at FPR so were looking forward to tomorrow.

Chaz Mostert - #6 Pepsi Max FPR Ford: 2nd
It was a to bit of an up and down day and everyone was running different tyres but we all got to see the true pace in the final session. We ended up second which is pretty cool and there is nothing covering the top-three. If we can get everything 100 per cent we should be around the pointy end tomorrow. The guys have done a great job to get us all on the pace but we can find some more gains tonight and we are aiming to have all four cars up front.

Tim Edwards Team Principal:
An encouraging start and to have the cars all around the same lap time shows all the car crews are heading in the right direction. We know how hard Barbagallo can be in race trim so tomorrow will be a different story and we just need to ensure we qualify well and have cars that will hang onto their tyres.

DUNLOP SERIES PRACTICE
Rising star Cameron Waters has made a similarly positive start like his main series team-mates to finish second in Dunlop Series practice. Waters, currently third in the points, is happy with his effort and wants a strong qualifying session to make the most of the tyre life that has benefitted him so well this season.

Cameron Waters - #56 ENZED FPR Ford
"Second was good. I put green tyres on at the end and we had solid pace but I feel there is more in the car and my driving. We should be strong in the races as our tyre life is good and that is where it is going to be won.
