This incredible racing circuit combines fast straights with double apex, radial and hairpin turns, providing a challenging combination of both. The seaside circuit really challenges everyone in terms of high speed set-up, braking efficiency and racecraft.

Pre-race report

3 November 2009

It feels strange to have such a quiet lead up to a round and race there twice in 2 months. There is only one 30 minute practice session, so that will make it challenging to get the car set up for qualifying and a race, we will have to choose which one to focus on. Going off our form at SuperGP we are confident with our car speed and know that we have improved the car since our last race at Phillip Island. Physically i'm feeling better, still not 100%, but the rest has done me well. Hope to see lots of you make the trip down, it will be an action packed two day event.

Post-race report

8 November 2009

The Island was a disappointing weekend. We struggled to find the right car set up on Saturday, the track had changed a lot since the last time we were here. I qualified 10th, couldnt get the car to do what i wanted in the shootout. I finished 6th in Race 1, had a long debrief on how to fix our problems and we woke up confident with our direction on Sunday. Qualifying 2nd was good, I couldn't get the car off the line in Race 2, i had no grip. I got turned around at 250km on the first corner on the first lap by Van Gisbergen, it was a dangerous move and disappointing to be out of the race. I'll keep fighting.
