24 March 2014

Sergio and Frosty race to 3rd after rain marked the first race of the Stock Car season.

The Voxx Racing was just two tenths of a second to win a podium in the race this Sunday at Interlagos season opener 2014 Stock Car. Shortly after the race the car in 3rd was disqualified, which moved Jiminez/Winterbottom up to 3rd place. In an unprecedented format doubles the proof was played in rain and marked by accidents.

After an excellent stop for refueling, driver change and tires, Sergio Jimenez and Mark Winterbottom won the fourth position to the end of the race, finishing on the podium 0S2. Already Denis Navarro, after making great workouts and drop fifth, was still touched by the beginning of the test and Rubens Barrichello, after riding, was hit by other competitors. The pilot is doing well, but the car was completely damaged and prevented even your double could do his first race in Stock.

Jimenez stressed the great work done by the members of Voxx Racing, who executed a perfect and very fast pit stop, leaving Australian Mark Winterbottom able to compete on the podium.

"Little short conquer this podium, but this fourth place also has a special glow. Started well, took a light touch on the first lap on the 'S' Senna, but kept the position. Chose to drop on used tires, and it rained a lot at the beginning, which hampered me in my part of the race. Mark also had problems with the push-to-pass, which was not triggering on their first laps. When he returned to work, he was the fastest of the track. guided much Mark , which shows that he came to score the team. Gotta thank the work of the box Voxx Racing made the pit stop, which put us in position to fight for the podium, "said Jimenez.

Mark Winterbottom felt happy to help Sergio Jimenez in the league. the pilot car # 73 is fourth in the league with nine points:.. "This race was quite difficult this was the first time I walked on wet tires with this car, so I tried driving without the risk Voxx prepared a car great for us. was a shame the push-to-pass has not worked in the beginning, because we could have gotten a podium, "Winterbottom said.

The # 5 of Voxx Racing, which had the dual Denis Navarro and Portuguese Álvaro Parente, was still touched at the beginning of the race when it occupied the fifth place. Denis Navarro, who was driving at the time of the accident, described that took a touch behind and was sold in the middle of the track, the target for competitors. Despite the powerful images of the car falling apart, Denis Navarro suffered nothing.

"The car was very good and had been trying to be conservative in the beginning. Took a touch But it took me the proof, which left me frustrated by race end so prematurely and having a good potential as a result, since we had a good chance podium. Fortunately, despite the accident was dangerous, escaped unharmed, "said Denis Navarro.

Parente, who would drive the car of Denis, regretted the incident ". Was a shame what happened to Denis [Navarro] We would have a car to fight for the first positions," concluded Parente.

William Lube, chief of staff Voxx, said driving Sergio Jimenez and Mark Winterbottom as well as the work of pitstops Team: "Sergio had little traction in the beginning but kept the car very well for Mark Winterbottom had an excellent pilot. and took our car to the podium helped by a fantastic work of our mechanics in the pit stop. Shame Denis was having taken the race because we were able to fight for the podium with him also, "he said.
