Frosty joins Jimenez for the opening of the Brazilian Stock Car season

Mark Winterbottom will partner Sergio Jimenez in the #73 car of Voxx Racing Team in Interlagos

Voxx Racing Team has signed Australian V8 Supercar ace Mark Winterbottom to drive with the team at this year's International race, the opening event of the 2014 Brazilian StockCar series. He will partner Sergio Jimenez in the #73 car.

Winterbottom is currently racing for Ford Performance Racing in the V8 Supercar championship in Australia and is the reigning champion of the Bathurst 1000.

The always fan-friendly Australian has 10 seasons under his belt in the ultra-competitive V8 Supercar series. With 29 poles and 77 total career podiums to his name he will be one of the most successful drivers competing in this year's race at Interlagos.

"I am very excited to be racing at Interlagos in the first International race for the Brazilian StockCar championship. I have been following the series for a long time and I’m delighted to be able to finally have the opportunity to compete in it", Winterbottom said.

"The cars are very unique and look like a lot of fun to drive. They are relatively different to what I have driven for most of my career and I am looking forward to the challenge."

Team principal William Lube is thrilled Winterbottom is joining the team and believes Voxx Racing Team approach to Stock Car will enable him to quickly adapt to Stock Car racing.

"Mark has an incredible record in V8 Supercar and is certainly on form after his recent 2013 Bathurst 1000 win. His knowledge of racing in similar "co-driver" races in Australia will help our team tremendously. We are also looking forward to using his qualifying speed to help score the best result possible. The International Stock Car race is scheduled for 21-23 March and the event will feature some of the best drivers in the world.
