Ford scores historic lockout

Frosty finishes 3rd

Ford Pepsi Max Crew drivers have been part of Ford history at Queensland Raceway with Will and Mark claiming a double-podium on a day where the Blue Oval claimed a clean-sweep of the top four places.

Will and Mark finished second and third in the final race of the weekend behind FPR young gun Chaz Mostert who claimed his first V8 Supercars race win with FPR customer outfit Dick Johnson Racing.

Will started from pole but on a damp track fellow front row started Mostert got the better drive.

Will spent a large portion of the race in third until moving to second late in the race when Race 23 race winner Scott McLaughlin was forced to pit with a puncture. He closed on Mostert but finished just behind the teams young star.

Mark rose from eighth to claim the final podium spot and after a battle with stable mate David Reynolds he moved ahead with five laps remaining.

Reynolds locked another tyre and while it did not result in a puncture he could not hold off the fast-finishing Winterbottom.

Pepsi Maxs double podium was complimented by Mosterts dominant debut win which comes in just the FPR drivers fifth event. The result also highlights the benefits of the growing technical relationship between FPR and Dick Johnson Racing.

Earlier in the day Will and Mark raced in formation for most of the latter stages of the days first 32-lap race.

Mark moved up from 13th to finish 10th while Will logged another solid points haul in ninth.

Race 23 Result: 10th
Race 24 Qualifying: 8th
Race 24 Result: 3rd
I was happy with my car in qualifying for the first race but a brake issue made things a bit hard and I had to start back in the pack which made things tough. In the second race we made the same change as Will did and it paid off but overall I think we maybe didnt take the best overall direction with set-up across the weekend. We made the most in the final race and we got another solid result. It was great to see the young guys come through today and show us middle-aged drivers how its done. Obviously congratulations to Chaz and his engineer Adam on a great effort. To have a 1-2-3-4 is an amazing result no matter where we all finished and the team did a fantastic job all round.

Will Davison - #6 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
Race 23 Qualifying: 7th
Race 23 Result: 9th
Race 24 Qualifying: 1st
Race 24 Result: 2nd
Ive got mixed emotions. Obviously pole was great and the last race was a massive improvement but I am a little surprised by the lack of speed in the first half of the race. That aside, it was a big improvement over the earlier race and we got a good result so it was a solid if not unspectacular race for me. Obviously all the crew are really happy and it is great that weve had all four of our cars up front across the weekend.

Tim Edwards FPR Team Principal:
Today was one of the really proud moments during my time in motorsport. For our team as a whole it was a brilliant day, but Chazs win was truly special. We first got serious about him at this very venue two years ago so to see him come full circle during that time is very rewarding for all of us involved both at our team, for his family and his new family at DJR. Will, Frosty, Dave and Alex (Davison) all drove extremely well in difficult conditions and it is a major result for Ford to have four of its cars claim the top four places in the race. We will enjoy this win and it shows we are coming into form just in time for the Endurance Cup.
