Townsville's first V8 Supercar event finally brings our sport to the huge fan base that we have in Northern Queensland. This is a new street circuit and as with any track of this type - expect plenty of action. I like the addition of new venues to our calendar as it brings everyone back to an even starting point, not having raced there before.

Pre-race report

7 July 2012

I’ve just come back from a big trip to the United States where we went to Texas to check out the new track we will be racing on from next year. Arriving in Townsville and seeing the community support for FPR with our merchandise everywhere and chatting to people in shops and restaurants and having them wish you luck for Townsville was really amazing to have that support. Reid Park is very similar to the Hamilton street track where we were very strong earlier in the year so we know our cars will be competitive which is important given how tight the battle is for the championship lead.

Post-race report

8 July 2012

5th was the best i could do today, I had brake fade from early in the race after following closely behind other cars, we lost a few spots in the pit stop, with other teams extremely quick. We will work hard before Ipswich to pick up.
