L&H 500 Phillip Island

Race results

Phillip Island Raceway, Victoria

10-12 September 2010

  • Qual 7th
  • Race 3 2nd
Championship 3rd

This incredible racing circuit combines fast straights with double apex, radial and hairpin turns, providing a challenging combination of both. The seaside circuit really challenges everyone in terms of high speed set-up, braking efficiency and racecraft.

Pre-race report

13 September 2010

After 8 weeks away from the track the count down to L&H 500 has finished and the race is not far away. I feel confident that our hard work in the break will pay off. Weather is obviously going to play a big part but both Luke and I are comfortable in either condition. Anyone heading down there be sure to come say hello and remember anyone camping gets a great experience to meet all the drivers at the saturday night BBQ. Bring it on!

Post-race report

13 September 2010

2nd was a great result. I knew we had a good race car from the outset on Friday, but we didn't have the fastest pace over one lap. This saw us struggle slightly in qualifying and a bad start from me in my qualifying race along with a safety car didn't give us the best starting position for Sunday. Luke started in the car and did a terrific job in his stint, he handed the car over to me starting and mixing it with the front runners, a great strategy call from my engineers saw us pop out in front of Lowndes after our final pit stop but i didn't have the pace to hold him off, so finishing 2nd was where we belonged and i am pleased to have closed the championship gap down to 239 points to the lead.
