Without a doubt the most exciting event on the V8 Supercar Calendar, most of the 3.2km layout is a shortened version of the former Australian Formula One Grand Prix street circuit. Renowned as one of the best street circuits in the world after its 11 year tenure as the home of the Grand Prix, the fast layout leaves absolutely no room for errors. This circuit's concrete barriers have on many an occasion provided a stark reminder to V8 Supercar drivers of just how hard it can bite if mistakes are made. Often the scene of titanic V8 Supercar battles, this circuit and record public attendances makes it the jewel in the crown of V8 Supercar racing in Australia and one of the biggest domestic sporting events in the country.

Pre-race report

9 March 2009

It is great to be heading off to Adelaide tomorrow for the first round of 2009, i'm so glad it is finally here. Clipsal is one of the best events on the calendar, the atmosphere is great, the ford fans are roaring in the tens of thousands and the city comes alive. Over the past 4 years we have been quick, but i have only finished Race 2 once, so i am going there to finish both races this year. The weather is set to be warm and fine which is good. Hope to see you there or tune in to channel 7 to catch the action.

Post-race report

15 March 2009

It was a very tough weekend, we had bad luck at turn 4 in qualifying and an incident with Van Gisbergen in Race 1. In Race 2 the car was the best car i have ever driven at clipsal, but unfortunately a bolt on the left front upright failed which sent me off the track and took ten laps to fix. On the good side it broke in a spot with plenty of run off which is rare at adelaide. The car is straight and we will head to the GP for a bit of fun.
