Raceway has made it an exciting venue for V8 Supercar racing. Featuring three fast straights blended with a quick chicane and some tight corners, Winton is a highly technical circuit that gives V8 Supercar team engineers and drivers a lot more to think about each year to maximise speed and suspension performance. The tight 3km layout allows excellent viewing from most parts of the circuit, while a new pit area has made it a far more user friendly circuit in recent years.

This has been a very quick turn around between rounds which has been tough on the team but helped that it's a home race. Winton is our test track so we are confident of a strong result. The main factor to deal with will be the weather, rain is predicted and that place in the middle of winter can be very cold, maybe even frosty. The track offers a few challenges - generating temperature in the front tyres and having a fast turning car will result in a quick lap time. See you all at the track and be sure to rug up.

Post-race report

Qualifying and our race pace was brilliant, to be in the 1minute 22's was a demonstration of our speed. Race 1 was completely unlucky getting a bolt through the tyre, slowly deflating it. Race 2 saw our car speed take us from 21st to 2nd unfortunately the high turned low when I made a mistake on turn 3 in Race 3, locking a right front tyre and running off the track, I just couldn't bring in up, I had to keep my foot on it to ensure I didn't get bogged and when I rejoined the track there was some racing going on and I got hit in to the kitty litter. Some rounds are meant to be and some aren't, we are only 12 points off the lead and plenty of races left.
