Pre-race report

Off to Round 5 at Sandown Raceway, our first Melbourne round of the year and my first non endurance race at sandown. I qualified pole last year and feel very confident after our clean sweep at Barbagallo. The track offers medium grip levels, the car reaches high speed and braking performance leads to a fast lap time. My favourite corner on the track is turn 6 at the end of the back straight, you approach the corner at 270km/h, brake late and hard, go back to 5th gear, the car gets nervous in the rear, this is one of the most challenging corners in the country. The weather has always thrown a spanner in to the works, from head wind to hail, it will be interesting to see how mother nature impacts our strategy in the three sprint races. Hope to see lots of local FPR supporters.

Round 5: Sandown Post-Race Report
Thanks to all my fans for the support at Sandown, it was great to see the FPR gear and hear you cheering. We had another fantastic weekend, spraying champagne and bringing home a trophy and the championship lead. In qualifying and Race 1 I was second quickest and that is where I finished. Conditions were extremely tough in Race 2 and our wet weather pace was not as strong as we hoped. My focus was on survival and consolidating points because I knew if it was dry for Race 3 we would be on the money. I had a great launch off the start line moving from 6th to 3rd and in to 2nd shortly after. I look forward to our test day at Winton before Darwin Round 6.
