It's that time of year again when we head to the furthest part of the country, Barbagallo raceway. Perth seems to suit my style as I like to role the car through the corners and carry a lot of mid corner speed and this is what is required to be quick at this track. My favorite part of the circuit would have to be turn 6 known as the bowl/kolb corner, this corner is by far one of the toughest corners in the championship, you go in to the corner down hill which has a tendency to lock the rear brakes, mid corner the car needs a lot of front end grip, power down tends to make the car role over in the rear and lacks support, in spite of this, power out of this corner determines your speed at the end of the back straight which is the prime passing spot. In the past Perth was renowned for bad tyre wear until the track was resurfaced three years ago, grip is no longer an issue and tyre life allows teams to vary their pit strategy.

What a dream weekend! After Hamilton I stressed how important qualifying was and this weekend proved that. After the practice session on Friday I knew we had a fast race car, we made some changes overnight to get more out of new tyres and it got us our first pole position for the year. I've been saying that we need to start the year strong and after my first clean sweep this weekend, I feel it is coming together. We were extremely lucky to have a dry qualifying and race 1, the weather threw out some challenges in race 2 but we were able to be conservative and take the win and race 3 was a great way to cap off the weekend. I'm really looking forward to sandown and hopefully seeing some of you there.
