Top 5 finish for Frosty

Frosty finished 5th at Phillip Island

Prodrive Racing (Australia)'s Mark Winterbottom now sits third in the championship after finishing fifth in race six at Phillip Island.

After starting the race from the second row, Winterbottom re-joined the race in provisional fourth after the pit stops, before Fabian Coulthard passed the reigning Champion after locking the brakes at the bottom of Lukey Heights.

Winterbottom says the team will work to change the engine in car one overnight ahead of tomorrow's 45 lap race in order to address some issues.

Despite starting from 21st on the grid, young-gun Cameron Waters was able to make up three spots in Saturday's race.

DRIVERS’ VIEW
Mark Winterbottom - #1 The Bottle-O PRA Ford:
Qualifying:
3rd
Race 6: 5th
"Today wasn't too bad. The car's got a few little issues so the guys are going to have a late night tweaking her up which I'm sorry for but we have to address it because it's cost us a little bit of time. We'll change the engine overnight and we'll go again tomorrow. It is what it is, it's not a mechanical thing, it's just not running right so they'll fix it and we'll make the car a little bit better and go again tomorrow. We've got a quick car on one lap which we proved today but we just have to make it better over the distance. We had an average day and we finished fifth so you know you hop out of the car and gave it everything you have so fifth is not a bad result."

Cameron Waters - #6 Monster Energy PRA Ford:
Qualifying:
 21st
Race 6: 18th
"It was a bit of a battle from the start today. I made a mistake on my fastest lap in qualifying and that cost us probably about 10 places so that put us back. The race was okay, we were able to make up a few spots but still not as far up as we'd like. We definitely have a few things to work on overnight. We're not quite where we want to be so we'll work on that for tomorrow."

Tim Edwards – Team Principal:
"There's a lot to take from today which is the main thing. There are a few issues to address obviously before tomorrow but we'll look at those overnight, make the appropriate changes and go again tomorrow. There are definitely some good signs there so we'll take those and work on the negatives. Frosty did a great job to hold onto fifth in the end there against some tough competition."

DUNLOP SERIES
Prodrive Racing (Australia)'s Garry Jacobson has won his second Dunlop Series race after starting from the front row of the grid at Phillip Island. Teammate Jack Le Brocq took home the pole position cheque, his first for the year. Jacobson lead from the get go as Le Brocq stalled on the start line, pushing him back to 16th. A mid-race safety car took away Jacobson's early 3-second lead as Le Brocq made his way up to sixth. A mistake at turn four then hurt Le Brocq's race further, pushing him back once again. Despite the challenges, the car five driver was able to make his way back up to finish the race 10th as Jacobson crossed the line in first place.

Jack Le Brocq - #5 GoGetta Racing PRA Ford:
Qualifying:
1st
Race 1: 10th
"It was great to get pole position this morning. I knew we had a good car and to get it into pole was fantastic. Unfortunately the race didn't quite go as planned but we had good race pace. I made my way through the field fairly well but a few mistakes cost us so we'll focus on making our car good again for tomorrow and hopefully make up a few more spots like we did today."

Garry Jacobson - #6 Challenger Valve PRA Ford:
Qualifying:
 2nd
Race 1: 1st
"So far this year my race starts have been pretty good so once I got a good start and some clean air I just put my head down and put down some good laps. Unfortunately the safety car brought the whole field back which was a bit of a downer but I just sort of kept my tyre temp up and my brake temp up and once I saw the green flag just kept the same process going. A really big thanks to Prodrive Racing for giving me such a great car to drive, it's an exceptionally good car to drive."
