Safety car spoils strong run

Frosty goes from lead to 15 th

Pepsi Max Crew has finished the final race at the Perth SuperSprint with mixed results after a strong start to the day. 
Chaz Mostert gained his second ever pole position in qualifying, crediting his engineer Adam De Borre with the car's performance. 
A safety car mid-way through the race hurt the team's strategy; however Mostert was able to hold on to finish fourth. 
After a dream start to race nine where he was able to speed ahead of team-mate Mostert, Mark Winterbottom was unable to keep up to speed on worn tyres towards the end of race nine where he finished in fifteenth place.

"The first part of today was a bit better than the afternoon to be honest. Qualifying second was great and to be out there next to Chaz was fantastic as well. I got the start on him in the race and we were able to hold that well into the first round of pit stops but the safety car hurt our strategy a bit. We ended up doing ten or so laps extra on our soft tyres than we wanted and mine didn't hold up as nicely as I would have liked but unfortunately that's racing."

"It was a pretty tough day in the office today. We went with the option A strategy today which was to get the car to the line as quick as we could and unfortunately we didn't really need that safety car to come in that last stint. The safety car probably cost us the chance of the win or even a podium spot but that's the way racing goes. I'm really, really happy with the car. To do that extra ten laps on the softs to be where we were I'm really happy with what the team's done this weekend, Adam De Borre especially. He's mastered the car here and now I can't wait to go to Winton."

"Today was a bit of a mixed bag. We qualified really well and started really well but that safety car just came at the wrong time but I think from the weekend overall we can take away a number of positives which is what you want."

DUNLOP SERIES – PERTH SUNDAY WRAP
Prodrive Racing's Cameron Waters has continued his winning streak on Sunday at Barbagallo Raceway after taking out a 16 second lead over Paul Dumbrell in race three. Holding pole position from race to race, Waters was able to maintain his position and advantage over the field. The Dunlop Series returns at Winton on the 15th of May.
Cameron Waters - #5 ENZED PRA Ford:
"It feels really good to be up on the podium. In practice we kind of worked on the race car a bit and qualifying was okay, we ended up second by half a tenth or close to that and at the start of the first race I knew if I was on the front row I was going to be okay. We had a good race car, and overall the weekend panned out pretty well."
