In his 100 race in Stock and debut Voxx Racing, Marcos Gomes achievement podium with Winterbottom

In his hundredth race in Stock Car, the São Paulo Marcos Gomes was one of the highlights of the Doubles Race, which opened the 2015 season of the main category of Brazilian auto racing. Running with Australian Mark Winterbottom, Gomes made his debut with the Voxx Racing team up on the podium after coming second in Goiania.

Gomes managed to lead the race for more than five laps, fighting for the tip with Ricardo Mauricio yet lost it in the box to stop for driver change. "I am very pleased with the car that Voxx Racing gave me for this race. We had a very good performance throughout the weekend. It was a taste that we could have won, but I think we did the best we could and this place on the podium was well deserved for us. It was a great debut and a great way to mark my hundredth race in Stock Car, "says Gomes.

Winner Doubles Race 2014, Felipe Fraga also had a good Sunday in Goiania. Partnering with the Portuguese Alvaro Parente, he made a great start, jumping from 14th place to eighth. In the box to stop the Voxx Racing starred in one of the best exchanges of the weekend, making the driver change, the four tires and refuel in just 37 seconds.

The Portuguese made a bold race with good overtaking, but had to step on the grass in one of the disputes. Still, crossed the finish line in 7th place - being one of only two teams to put two cars in the top seven. "We did a very good race recovery. Felipe handed me the car in a key moment and we can skip some positions. Then I had a great duel with Piquet and I'm happy to have taken the best and won important points for Felipe ( Fraga), "says Parente, who had piloted the Stock Car Voxx in the Doubles Race in 2014, and Winterbottom.

The Australian, and Gomes celebrated the podium. "We did a great job. It was worth a trip across the world to come running again by Voxx Racing. I realized soon after the first three laps that we would have problems with the tires with degredation, i caught the leader but I preferred to hold the 2nd position and not risk anything before the finish line. I'm pretty happy with the team result, "says Winterbottom.

No approve what had been done on Saturday, Fraga was much more pleased with the car 88 produced today. "We knew it would not be easy to recover from the 14th position, but we did and I'm happy. I'm sure we will be even more competitive in Ribeirão Preto," says Fraga, citing the next stage of Stock.

Who also celebrated the result of Voxx Racing was the chief of staff William Lube. "We did a good job with Mark (Gomes) and Mark (Winterbottom). They walked well all weekend and it makes me happy to further work. With respect to Felipe (Fraga) and Alvaro (Parente) they did a great test of recovery and I thank all the team members who worked hard in the settings to set the car to this Sunday, "says Lube.

The next stage of Stock Car will be on 5 April in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
