Frosty wins race 13 and Jason Richards trophy

Ford Pepsi Max Crews Mark Winterbottom has extended his championship lead to more than 100 points after another dominant drive netted his second race win of the weekend, the perpetual Jason Richards Trophy and a record 52nd win for the FG Falcon.

A strong qualifying effort saw Frosty start fourth, Chaz fifth and David Reynolds sixth.

Frosty ran in the lead pack with his team-mates early while pit strategy and car pace moved him to second after his first stop.

He then closed on leader Scott McLaughlin with the pair pitting line astern for the final time down pit lane, leaving the lead battle down to the respective teams.

The factory Ford crew backed up their Pit Stop Challenge win at the start of the event by servicing Frosty faster than their rivals, giving him a lead he would not give up.

From there he built a comfortable buffer to give the FG Falcon its 52nd win which makes it the most successful Falcon ever in Australian touring car racing.

Chaz recorded his second podium of the weekend with third after another encouraging day in his Pepsi Max Ford.

He used his track position and car pace to full advantage to comfortably back up his Saturday effort.

Mark Winterbottom - #5 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
Qualifying: 4th
Result: 1st
Today was an amazing day and to win the Jason Richards trophy is very special. He was an amazing guy and we all take great pride in winning this. We currently hold Jasons trophy, the Mark Porter Trophy and the Peter Brock Trophy so we are very honoured to have won such special races in our championship. It was incredible to race on ANZAC Day, to see the massive crowd supporting us all weekend and to claim two wins and the points lead is all we couldve asked for. We are all very proud of what weve achieved and will use this momentum to drive us all to perform at the highest level.

Chaz Mostert - #6 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
Qualifying: 5th
Result: 3rd
It is fantastic to be on the podium with a guy like Frosty and Scott McLaughlin who Ive been battling with in the junior ranks for many years. I started the event a little off the pace but weve adapted my Pepsi Max Ford all weekend and while we werent quite on Marks pace, we definitely were good enough for the podium battle. I am not looking at our points but weve had a great weekend and I am relieved to have some results which show the potential of what we can do. Ive doubled my podium tally this weekend so its been great.

Tim Edwards Team Principal:
Today we executed every element we needed to the way we planned and another win and podium was the result so we are all very satisfied. The points lead Mark holds has increased to more than 100 and while we are all aware there is a long way to go, we are where we want to be and the result and level of performance gives everyone a lot of confidence. We will enjoy this win tonight before our focus shifts to Perth as soon as we get back to Australia.
