Frosty finishes 2nd behind teammate

Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom have dominated the field at the Tasmania Challenge today (Saturday) by finishing first and second respectively for today’s 120km Race 3 of the V8 Supercars Championship.

After qualifying on pole for the race Frosty was swooped off the line by teammate Davison who had earlier qualified second to make it an Orrcon Steel FPR lockout on the front row of the grid.

After moving back to third when the Orrcon Falcon rubbed with Jamie Whincup on the back straight Frosty quickly regained the position from Whincup to reclaim second and make a charge back towards teammate Davison.

The pair diced and by the end of the race a mere 0.63s separated the two Fords in what was another faultless performance by FPR.

“That was an intense race and another massive effort by the team,” commented Frosty.

Earlier in the day Frosty claimed pole for Race 3 ahead of Davison

“Will has stepped up a gear this year and its made me have to dig deep and drive faster. We’ll be looking for a similar 1-2 result over tomorrow’s 200km race but this time with an Orrcon Steel Ford crossing the finish-line first!”

Apart from two competitors (David Wall and Dean Fiore) the 26 other V8 Supercars started on the hard-compound Dunlop before pitting for softs and fuel for the run home.

Both FPR cars pitted on laps 24 and 25 and once positions had re-sorted themselves it was clear the Fords were in a league of their own as they ended up some nine seconds ahead of third placed Whincup by the end of the race.
