Frosty becomes an athlete ambassador for Bolle

July, 2010 - V8 Supercar driver Mark Winterbottom has joined forces with iconic global safety and fashion eyewear manufacturer and marketer, Bollé.
Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom, 29, joins an elite group of Bollé athlete brand ambassadors who include 2010 Winter Olympics Gold medalist Lydia Lassila and Ironman Champion Shannon Eckstein along with international athletes such as Sergio Garcia and beach volleyball gold medalists Kerry Walsh and Misty-May Treanor.
Bollé has enjoyed significant growth in its Australian safety eyewear business in recent years, ensuring that Australian manufacturing and service industries are equipped with the most comfortable, functional and intrinsically safe eye protection equipment available. The Bollé brand is also globally renowned as a leading player in sports and fashion eyewear.
Winterbottom is excited about his new athlete ambassador role with Bollé, one of the world’s best known and successful sports, safety and fashion eyewear manufacturers and marketers.

To also assist in promoting the link between enhanced workplace and DIY activity safety through the use of Bollé safety eyewear products, the well known Bollé logo will also appear on the front of Winterbottom’s most important piece of safety equipment, his racing helmet.
Winterbottom is recognised as one of the most physically fit drivers competing in the V8 Supercar Championship Series, abiding to a rigorous year round training regime. This includes competing in major athletic events (such as the Sydney City to Surf Run and the Men of Steel Challenge) whenever they can be scheduled around his hectic racing
calendar that includes 15 race events across Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East extending from January to December 2010.
Winterbottom has just completed the shooting of his first television commercial promoting Bollé’s safety eyewear products which was filmed at the impressive FPR Race Centre in Melbourne. He has also been involved in promoting Mens Health Week, one of several of Bollé’s supported public awareness campaigns. Winterbottom has also taken part in a new television community service announcement to promote this worthy cause.
Winterbottom has competed with Ford’s major V8 Supercar team, FPR, since the start of the 2006 season. During this time he has gained 14 race wins, 60 podium (top three) results, 77 top five race results and 119 top ten race results. The driver affectionately known to fans and the media as Frosty has also gained 14 pole (top qualifier) positions and 38 top three qualifying results during his career to date. He has finished more than
80% of his races with FPR within the top ten, and has qualified in the top ten in no less than 85% of his race starts with the team.
