Townsville's first V8 Supercar event finally brings our sport to the huge fan base that we have in Northern Queensland. This is a new street circuit and as with any track of this type - expect plenty of action. I like the addition of new venues to our calendar as it brings everyone back to an even starting point, not having raced there before.

Pre-race report

4 July 2013

Sunny Townsville has always been a good track to us so Im feeling good and aiming for the same results we had two weeks ago in Darwin. We need to continue to show our speed and build on the potential weve shown all year. It is always a tough and challenging event with two 70 lap races and very hard on cars but we all enjoy it and winning there is very rewarding. We won there in 2010 so the aim is to repeat that this year and keep our streak of great results going.

Post-race report

7 July 2013

2nd yesterday was great, we ran a long stint on soft tyres. We did a great job today getting pole position and everything went as it should especially when we were driving away from the field, though there was a flipside as our tyre use yesterday maybe hurt us a bit today. I dont believe the tyre allocation is quite right as some people that had poor results yesterday were advantaged today. We did the best we could and fourth was it. That aside it was good to claw back points today and without the early season issues we would be much higher. The last couple of events have given us a lot more hope and our chance at the title doesnt look so unrealistic now. We came away with more points than our rivals so it wasnt a bad weekend at all.
