Race results

Hidden Valley, Darwin

15-17 June 2012

  • Qual 1st
  • Shootout 3rd
  • Race 1 3rd
  • Qual 2 2nd
  • Race 2 3rd
Championship 3rd

This is a very fast circuit with the longest straight in the series, taking up 1.1km of the circuit's 2.9 km length. The actual circuit layout is not overly difficult, but the tropical heat - even in mid winter, makes this without a doubt one of the toughest races on the calendar. I won this round last year and have had some great races in Darwin, so it is up there with my best.

Pre-race report

17 June 2012

Darwin is bringing a new format to qualifying by using soft tyres for the first time, that will mean you have to nail 1 lap as the soft tyres are the best on the first lap. We will be using a combination of hard and soft tyres in both races, and with 33 degrees in temperature tyre life has never been so important. I'm definitely looking forward to some warm weather.

Post-race report

17 June 2012

I had two third places in Darwin's races, this weekend saw us being challenged as a team with tyre life, especially on soft tyres, so to deal with that and achieve two podiums is a solid result. We have some work to do before we head to Townsville.
