The least technical of all the circuits that we compete at, Queensland Raceway rewards strong mid corner speed and traction (grip) out of the corners. The 3.1km layout basically consists of four right and two left corners with four straights - two short and two long, in between. I won at this venue in 2008.

Pre-race report

Ipswich brings back memories of my first ever lap in a V8 Supercar. I know the track well from testing in the past and will put that knowledge to good use. It is still really exciting to be leading the championship and coming off a great result in Darwin the team and myself are more confident and determined than ever. The track looks quite basic but the main challenges are the bumps under brakes and having tyre temperature for the two left hand corners as all the other corners are right hand turns. Qualifying is the key to finishing on the podium and I expect the top 10 will be covered by less than 4 tenths, meaning to get pole will require a perfect lap. I look forward to seeing all the Queensland FPR fans waving their flags and cheering us on.

Post-race report

What an achievement, to come to a track that was previously one of our weaker tracks and take the round win. I know I keep repeating this but qualifying once again proved to be vital in this weekends result and there was only 1 tenth separating the top 8. The team has really stepped up this year and our championship lead has now reached triple figures. Looking forward to heading to Winton so that we can continue the momentum.
